Sun Studio 11 is now Free

Filed under: General — greencrab @ 11:26 am

Looks like there are going to be more option for my Debian box. Probably the most useful part of Sun Studio 11 is the Fortran 95 compiler, since the only other free one is from Intel.

This release delivers the highest optimizations and the best performance in the development of scalable 32-bit and 64-bit applications on Sun’s newest hardware platforms including the latest multi-core UltraSPARC, x64 and x86 platforms. And Sun Studio 11 software now removes the price barrier and is available for Free!

The website said it only supports RH enterprise and SUSE, so might need alien to get it to work
