Google Voice with metered phone service

GrandCentral is now Google Voice. I’ve been using this for a year, but never fully utilize all the features. I only got the most basic phone service at home in order to get DSL With my basic land-line, making a call using Google Voice help me save a few bucks. Here’s how it works. You can make calls directly from the Google Voice website. After you initiate the call, the service will call your land-line first, and after that your call will be placed over the net.

Metered service only count outgoing call, so this doesn’t count toward your metered calls. Once you go over your limit, the phone company will charge extra for any calls. This will also work if you can’t dial long distance on your land-line, Google Voice makes the long-distance over their network.
